Patience, Kimosabe

Well, as fate would have it my poor editor befell the nasty cold/flu/nasal-crap that has been going around and the line-by-line edits have been delayed until next week. So while she recovers I get distracted. And the best distraction for me are bright, colorful, floozy-like flowers from Annies Annuals. Annie is the only garden shop owner I know of that approaches flowers as I do, with lust and verve!

As you can see from the photo this year's garden is going to be epic! (that's the spring time exuberance talking). The image at below left is of the garden when I actually was working part-time and writing (as opposed to full-time and writing) and as you can tell by the garden, I did less writing and more gardening that year... then had to get a full-time job. :0)

Oh, and if anyone has noticed... pub date: May 2011, super sneaky!!

The First of Many Firsts

Very exciting!!
Yesterday I had a very exciting meeting with the final editor on the manuscript it was a most momentous occasion for many reasons. First, earlier in the day I opened a business account for my company that holds the ISBN for Legend - Ha'iku Press. Then, sitting down with Legend's editor I realized during our talks of timelines and when the manuscript would be complete and ready for publishing was just weeks away. Weeks. Not months, weeks. I am refraining from commiting to a hard and fast pub date until the first of the line by line edits is back in two weeks. Then, I will announce the pub date. (!!!)

In the mean time I'm back to enjoying dinners again with my husband and extracurricular activities for the next few weeks. I actually went on a bike ride yesterday - it was amazing to be outside and the weather was sunny too, it seemed like the sun and I decided to venture out on the same day. Bliss!!

To the right is a picture of me with my meeting at Indigo handing them over the FIRST check ever written from Ha'iku Press and the FIRST monetary investment made toward Legend. I have a feeling it's going to be one of the best investments I ever make.
